Salish
Megan Vinther's "Salish" is the opening movement of her larger work, "Salish Suite." A love song to the Salish Sea in Washington state, "Salish" is a sentimental tribute to Vinther's family and her late father.
A lively 3/4 groove accompanies a simple yet profound melody and lush, ethereal pads of chords create a shimmering backdrop throughout. Solos are offered for Tenor 1, Trumpet 2, and Trombone 1.
